The Altimax HP from General Tires is a high performance tire which uses advanced technology for a long life, low noise, and high comfort. Acoustic Modulation Sound Technology suppresses sound waves to cut tire noise. The treads are made from a twin cushion silica compound and feature reactive contour technology to provide a comfortable ride while maintaining contact with the road surface under differing road conditions. These tires ensure proper operation with Visual Alignment Indicators to show vehicle misalignment and Replacement Tire Monitors which indicate tire wear.

Great winter tires!
We live in a small rural community with few places to choose from when shopping for tires, and when we went looking for new tires for our 2002 Chevy Cavalier, we had trouble finding any that were affordable. We didn't want to put expensive tires on a car with 160K miles on it. We finally decided to try buying tires online. The tires arrived in 4 days and as soon as I put them on the car we were impressed with the performance on our winter roads. The tires grip well in the snow, making it easy to go through drifts (even hard ones made by the snow plows) and the traction assist hardly comes on anymore! We were a little worried about the handling of our sport suspension when we went with a touring tire instead of performance tires, but so far no problems. We haven't driven in the rain yet, but have had some days where the snow is melting and the roads are wet and the traction is excellent.
