When General Tire was founded in 1915 by William F. O'Neil and Winfred E. Fouse, there were already more than 300 companies manufacturing tires. In an effort to find General's niche, O'Neil decided that instead of trying to provide Original Equipment (OE) tires to auto manufacturers, his company would focus on creating premium replacement tires for trucks. By specializing in the truck tire market, General established a reputation for innovation that eventually helped them break into the OE and passenger car markets.
Today, General tire continues to innovate, with technologies that improve driving safety and comfort:
RTM (Replacement Tire Monitor) technology helps drivers know exactly when it's time to replace their tires
TCT (Twin Cushion Technology) features high and low density tread cushions to deliver excellent ride comfort
VAI (Visual Alignment Indicator) technology lets drivers check their tire alignment at a glance

General Altimax RT43 – what a great tire and cheaper in price then the other tires for my car. The ride is a lot better and the road noise is a lot less. I ordered them on Saturday and they were sitting on my front porch Tuesday afternoon. I know these tires are gonna last and TireBuyer is great to deal with.

The General Grabber AT2 is the quietest and most dependable all terrain tire I've ever had. Great off-road and on snow. Never needed chains even when snow was up to my bumper. Quiet on the highway.
