Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Tire I live at 8200 ft elevation so we see 200+ inches of snow a year. This is my 4th set of these tires on 2 different vehicles and I won't run anything else. Run 'em year round on unplowed dirt roads and highway and get about 40k+ out of them. They handle well wet or dry or snow. They do tend to side slip in snow on corners, because of the extra confidence they give you tend to go faster. Starting out is better than stopping. If you brake too hard they load up and slide a little bit. They will go through 18" without a problem and stick like a cat on carpet on the ice. Rotate them front to back every oil change and they will last well. Unstudded BTW. I am buying a new set for winter and will put old ones back on next spring to maximize mileage. Traded out the Michelin's (good mileage, poor traction) with the dealer so I could stay on the road. Will get the Winterforce LT's for my truck when I need a new set. I can live with a little noise as long as I keep moving. September 14, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Snow Tire In The Price Range I put these on a 97 Nissan Hardbody 4X4 pickup. I bought the non-XL version this time. They feel a little soft while cornering but handle very well for snow tires. The XLs have a stiffer sidewall and handle a little bit better, but the difference isn't much to complain about. - These are some of the best performing snow tires I've ever used for deep and light snow. They are also very stable in slushy conditions. They are surprisingly quiet for this type of tread pattern, but are much noisier than my Dunlop SP60 summertime touring tires. It's hard to compare that since they are completely different tread styles used for completely different conditions. The extra noise is not excessive and was not unexpected. - I'll mention again that I am very pleased with their deep and light snow performance. They get me around town in light snow very well, and I've had the 4 wheel drive engaged in 27 inches of snow at high altitude and enjoyed the ability to keep climbing. December 19, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Winterforce UV This is one of the best winter tires on the market. What the consumer gets for the price of these tires is very hard to beat. I've had great success with these tires in terms of on-road traction and even off-road as long as the tires still possess the vast majority of their high-density siping. Once the siping is worn away the tread blocks act like solid rubber lugs which diminishes their on-road ice and wet weather traction. At this point though, the tires are pretty much worn out anyway. These tires don't have wide channels like more aggressive mud or deep snow tires, but don't let this fool you. Even in deep snow, these tires will dig like there is no tomorrow! Tread life is even very good for a dedicated winter/snow tire. I will buy nothing but Winterforce UV tires. I've been running them for many years and year round at that too. November 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tires, great price, fast delivery Bought 5 for my small SUV. We live off the pavement so an agressive tread all terrain (mud and snow tire is the norn here year around. I mounted and balanced these tires myself in my own shop, we own a tire machine and I was pleasantly suprised to find these tires were all balanced from the factory and aligning the balance (yellow) dot on the tire with the valve stem in the rim yielded a perfectly balanced tire, I did not add any additional weight on 5 rims. That tells me these tires are manufactured carefully and they are quality built.Tires mounted easily with little fuss and the tread pattern, while directional (must be oriented with the sidewall arrow pointing in the direction of travel) tread pattern looks good and is agressive in mud and snow.Had a chance to run these tires on a 500 mile hunting trip soon after installation on various road surfaces, from dirt to asphalt to gravel in dry and snowy conditions and they perform beyond my expectations.. With careful rotation (front to back) I expect them to last at least 40K miles if not more. With the exception of a bit of a howl at speed on pavement (to be expected with a directional block type tread), these tires in every way exceed my expectations. I'll be purchasing them again for my other vehicles, a great value.Thank you Trie Buyer. January 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect (almost) tire I have 2004 nissan frontier - it is 2 wheel drive and last year i had firestone indy 500 tires on this truck and it was a very good tire - good gas mileage (up to 26mpg) ,quiet ,very good for hydroplaning but on the snow it was worthless so for this winter season i bought firestone winterforce and let me tell you - best choice i ever made - now i can go thru 1 foot of snow without having any extra weight put on my bed and also breaking is amazing ,highly recommended ! only thing i dont like is making just a bit excessive noise on the dry asphalt roads - but it is so much better than getting stuck in 2 inches of snow like last year ! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Snow Tire I purchased two of these Firestones for the rear of my Jeep Cherokee to replace the worn down snows that I had on there. So far I'm very pleased with them. I had no problem driving in the two storms that we've had so far this year, one 6" and the other 11". I would certainly buy these again. I've only put a couple hundred miles on them so I can't say how durable they will be but I can tell you that they give you great traction in snowy conditions. December 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tire, great value I bought a pair of these tires last season for the rear and was really impressed with thier performance. durring the summer i bought 4 new tires that were great on dry pavement, but i knew that they would not be great in the snow. So I decided to use the snow tires i bought last year on the front and buy another pair for the rear. These tires really chew through the snow and traction on ice is very good. With a two wheel drive pickup, i can confidently drive in the worst snow that West Michigan has to offer. For the price, these tires are a great value and TireBuyer had as good a price as anyone AND they shipped them to me for free! The kicker is that all the tire shops in town were out of these tires early in December and TireBuyer had them.I am very pleased overall with this company and this purchase. I will definately shop here in the future. January 5, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tire! This is a great tire for the money, a great value....period! Great price point, great traction and great tread wear. This is the second set I have bought for my vehicles. 1st vehicle is a 4x2 Grand Cherokee. Run them all year long on that one. Main vehicle is the Silvy 4x2. I run 275/55/20s in the summer on that,..........not so hot in winter. Those tires are almost a foot wide, not the best for snow by a long shot! I have no need for need a 4x4 vehicle, I don't hunt or go off-road, a bit of a disadvantage for winter in Wisconsin. But with the help of these tires, I don't need 4x4. These tires DIG! And, even more importantly, STOP! With a set of 4, you now can stop AND steer your vehicle in the deepest snow..............unreal. Are they a bit noisy? Sure, it's a snow tire. Not a deal breaker. That just serves you as reminder of your safety. I don't understand how there could be any negative reviews about these tires. There are going to be trade-offs, naturally. You have to give up a little comfort for the added aggressiveness, right? Deal with it! I, personally, am fully convinced that if everybody ran a set of 4 of these tires (any winter tire, actually) on their vehicle and used a little common sense, traffic accidents due to snow would be reduced by a HUGE margin. I am CONVINCED of that. It's the common sense thing though, not a whole lot of that going around anymore. Too many distractions (i.e. texting, people getting dumber, etc.). I digress, GREAT TIRE! GET EM'! November 21, 2013
