Rated 5 out of 5 by Great tire! Awesome buy! I cannot say enough good things about the wet traction control. In Ohio we have a variety of weather conditions and these tires have been great in snow, rain and dry pavement so far. I drive a 2005 Mercury Mariner 2wd 4 cyl. I have previously had Continential and Goodyear tires. The Kumhos are just as good, if not better than Continentials (& I am partial to Continentials) Theses tires are a really great value. You will not find them lower (plus shipping is free!!). They are rated for 85,000 miles, I think thats a little much to expect but if they do all the better. I would be thrilled if they last 60,000-70,000. Side note-I have brand new control arms, struts, and shocks so my personal ride quality is very good at the moment. I did a suspension overhall before mounting and balancing these tires. Make sure you have a good suspension when you get new tires because the wear will last longer and wear evenly. I would buy these again & from tirebuyer.com. Very good experience! December 19, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best tire I have ever had In the 65 years I have driven over the U.S in American made tires, This is the best most durable tire I have had on my car The side wall is as stiff as an American truck tire which makes it very stable on curves and you don't get the swishing effect like the thinner wall American Passenger tire. EVERY American tire I have had on my car has either had the belt slip or had to be re-balanced after a few hundred miles, This includes Good year, and Firestone. They were replaced or re-balanced under guarantee, BUT this Kumho tire has never had any problems in the 85,000 miles it was on my car. This is the 3rd set I have bough from Tire buyer and I am 200% satisfied with tire buyer and the tires they sell, The only thing to remember on the Kumho tire is, if your car calls for a P225/15, you need to order a P235/15k and an American size of P215/15 will need to be a P225/15 in the kumho sizing as the kumho sizing is different than the American sizing January 14, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great economy tire This is the second set of Solus KR21s I have owned; the last set outlasted the vehicle that I put them on. I replaced the set of Goodyear tires that were on my car when I bought it; they were worn down from nearly new to about 1/8" tread, could hydroplane on a wet road without puddles, and, no matter how often I had them rebalanced and rotated, would start vibrating horrendously after a couple thousand miles. The upgrade to Kuhmo Solus KR21s is noticeable. The traction is excellent in wet conditions, the noise level is low (and what noise is heard is more from the road itself,) and my fuel economy increased by 2 mpg -- and 27 mpg with mixed city/highway/gravel on an Impala is pretty good. The steering does feel much more "touchy" in comparison, but that could just be from breaking them in.Overall, though, the KR21 is a great tire that is available for a low cost and Kuhmo's 85k prorated warranty is hard to pass up. Rated 5 out of 5 by Best tire I have ever bought I bought 2 sets of the Kumho tires prior to this purchase, and have not had any problems with either, they are the best tire I have ever had much better than American made tires which had to be replace several times because of the belts slipping in the tire. This tire has never had that problem and all my driving is interstate. This purchase is to replace the ones I purchased prior because the ones prior have worn out after over 80,000 miles. The only thing to remember is that if your car calls for a 225 70R/15, you need to order a235/70R15 as the kumho tire is a smaller diameter tire than the American brand. other than that the tire is excellent much better than the American tire. I will buy this tire as long as I have a car, as I'm fed up with the American brands loosing balance after 100 miles and the belts slipping after 50-400 miles. When I put this tire on, I didn't have to take it off tell it wore out. in short VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS TIRE. December 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Mom Was running Goodyear Weatherhandlers and had to switch because Goodyear stopped producing the tire in the size needed. Was very concerned trying to select a new tire for Mom's Van. This vehicle is a two ton conversion passenger van and after reading the reviews, both good and bad I decided to try the Kumhos. Because of the weight of this vehicle dry traction grip, wet traction and quiteness were the most important factors in selecting a tire. After mounting the tires was very pleased with the dry traction and handling. Had four days of heavy rain and was very impressed with the wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. Tire was excellent in the rain, could feel the grip on the road even running through water build up. So far very pleased with the tire. Great tire for the price. Not that concerned with the warranty right now. I would be surprised if we get 85,000 miles on the tire but if we get half would be happy for the price. Mom's happy with the tire! March 1, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by This ONE tire has a hard spot or a veavy spot I bought 2 KUMHO KR21 tires I bought one tire and about a month later I bought another one, the last one I bought either has a hard spot or a heavy spot in the tire, you cannot get it balanced like the other tires, it took a lot of weights to get it balanced but it still has a shimmy in it. Rated 4 out of 5 by Car Junkie I bought these tires based on a review by another driver from Wisconsin...I do most of my driving at 63 on state highways and 73 mph on interstate standard roads.(I raced sports cars in England when younger.). The first thing I noticed was decreased rolling resistance...This showed up on my first full tank of gas at 29.2 mpg at speeds as noted above...We just had our first major storm and was also able to experience snow, packed snow, ice and rain. to and from working as a part time downhill ski instructor.....I would highly recommend these tires for anyone that has to drive on varied conditions in a light weight car...Can't comment on "Detroit Iron"...lolI My other vehicles are a Mustang Turbo and a full size Chev 4x4 pickup... Rated 2 out of 5 by Have to replace after two years Tire offered good traction in dry and wet conditions and a smooth quiet ride. Only lasted two years and the wear indicator is visible on the treads. Only got 30,000 miles out of the tires. Maybe could squeeze out another 3000 - 5000 miles but it's the wife's van and she is not comfortable with the lack of tread left on the tire. Very disappointed with the tire wear. March 25, 2015
