Rated 5 out of 5 by Rainbow These tires check all the boxes I know little about vehicle servicing and even less about tires. When told on a routine service that I would need new tires before my upcoming inspection, I turned to the online sites I've come to respect for no-nonsense advice for people like me. I found that Michelin were highly rated by both experts and purchasers. I then learned that the OEM tires for my particular vehicle were Michelin (not what was on the vehicle by the time I purchased it). And finally I learned that, contrary to expectation, Michelin were reasonably priced. I found Michelins that fit my vehicle and matched my driving habits/weather: the LTX M/S2. I then read online reviews about this particular tire. Confident, I bought them. I've now been driving on them for four months and can honestly say that I notice the difference in the sound and handling of the vehicle (especially in the rain). I would highly recommend these tires to anyone who's looking to check all the boxes of quality, performance and affordability. August 31, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Holzie LTX M/S2's are superb tires Michelin is the only tire is use on my vehicles. The LTX M/S2's I have on my 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic. I removed the OEM tires in less than 350 miles, replaced them Michelin's, and I haven't looked back. The wear, performance, value, quiet ride, traction, and dependability are something I have come to expect from Michelin tires. Today, when it costs so much to buy a car, why would you want to take chance and ruin it by purchasing cheap tires? Certainly not me! I am always amazed when people spend so much money on purchasing a vehicle yet want buy the cheapest tires possible as I have seen the havoc that poor tires can cause. I am on my second set of LTX's for my truck now and know that I can count on them to perform exactly as my first set. Living in snow country on a mountainside I never worry about these tires failing me which is most comforting. And, if any reason, an issue should arise, I know Michelin stands 100% behind every tire they manufacture. To me, that speaks volumes! August 7, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by BlueWing Replacement set for defective ones I have used the LTX-MS2 tires for quite a few years and this is the second time that I have had to have a new set replaced due to balance issue. This time, they tried 1 tire, but did not help and Force Balance did not help and 2 different shops produced radical different results from OK to UNABLE TO BALANCE. The latter was more correct, since they advised I had a mechanical defective on my warranty truck, the dealer pointed out that the Force showed unable to balance. After some doing, they finally replaced the entire set and we were able to get a ride that was not like driving down a gravel road. I had this same problem on another truck years ago, same tire, same problem, same fix... replace the tires till you get a good set. They are good tires when you get a good set and have great mileage life which is why I use them, but when they are bad, they are really bad. Warranty is the key, if they did not replace we would have serious issues, but it is time consuming. August 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by BookemDANO Everyone should drive on Michelins! I have purchased Michelin Tires for my vehicles for the past 20 years. When I got married a year ago I purchased Michelin Tires for my wife's Jeep. The reason that I have used Michelin's is for a number of reasons. They are in my mind the safest, quietest, most reliable tires on the market. The tread wear is unbelievable. The past two sets I have had on my trucks have gone way past the listed warranty period and still have tread life left. The ride they have provided has been comfortable, quiet and the handling in all types of weather is fantastic. My wife loves her Michelin tires. The ride they have provided is wonderful and we both love to drive her Jeep just because of those tires. Plus on both of our vehicles those tires look great. On many occassions when it comes to guys talking about our vehicles it always comes down to what tires you have on your vehicle. I don't hesitate in responding to those wonderful Michelin's. Thank You Michelin for providing a great tire. August 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 I've been buying new ... I've been buying new Michelin tires for most of my vehicles since 1980. Every set of Michelin tires installed on any of my vehicles, did show an immediate improvement in handling under all road conditions & better ride comfort. After many miles of use on all my vehicles, the Michelin tires always had the longest lasting treadlife of any other brand. That is why I've replaced the OEM tires on almost a dozen of my new vehicles with Michelin tires, within a very short period of time. I just recently bought New Michelin tires for my three trucks. Two were new with very low mileage and the third had less than 12,000 miles on it. I plan to put a set of new Michilin tires on my 2008 sportscar this spring, to replace the OEM tires which will have only about 2000 miles on them. Then another set of new Michelin tires for my lady's 2006 Ford Escape will be done shortly afterward. I'm thankful to Michelin for their tires, which are the best value, with improved safety while driving in any weather or road condition. November 11, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by 2GMC New to Michelin I'm pretty new to Michelin, having bought my first set a few months ago for my 2001 GMC Jimmy. I've since added a set of these tires to my 2004 GMC Sierra 4wd pickup. So, I guess that says that I like what I'm seeing from the tires. I've always had a good impression of Michelin and now, thus far, I can say they definitely give a nice ride. Haven't had the occasion to drive in snow because we don't get that much. Also, I'm not going off-road, just doing town and highway driving. So, I cannot address how these LTX M/S2 tires would perform off-road. Frankly, if I used my pickup as a farm vehicle or for camping, I might be more inclined to get Michelin's all-terrain version. But, for now, let me say that I am pleased with both sets of tires and I'm hoping that I will get great mileage from them. They are, admittedly, a bit more expensive than other brands that I looked at. But, if their durability and mileage give me excellent performance, it will be worth the extra. I am confident in recommending these tires. August 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Walstr We've been experiencing ... We've been experiencing 60K+ miles/set. 20K of those miles was pulling a 15K# fifth wheel RV with a hitch weight of 2100#, on our 2004.5 Ram 3500 Single Rear Wheel truck. Since RV hauling exposes tires to additional stress, I have the tires rotated twice/year which maintains even tread wear. Front inflation 65 psig. Rear inflated to 55 psig empty, 80psig hauling RV. If we were just driving 'round town', I'm sure the remaining 5/64th's tread depth (at time of purchasing new set) would have lasted many many more safe miles. I chose 5/64th's as a very conservation tread depth to assure maximum wet highway safety to avoid hydroplaning. In closing, Michelin tires have shown their quality when being balanced, in that I never had tires that required so little balance weight to be installed. This tells me the manufacturing process is excellent, as well as the materials. I'm a former garage mechanic & industrial technician, thus paid to be 'picky'. These are the real deal! Rated 5 out of 5 by vroomvroom my first michelins bought a set of LTX MS/2 a year ago and let me tell you its the best set of tires ive ever purchased, there are awsome at wet traction and very good at hard stops, does not warp, uncap or egg at all. i like how they have the tiny michelin man wear indicators on them. very high quality tire with 70,000 treadwear warranty you could not resist. i bet i can get over a 100,000 miles out these tires- the wheel bearings il go before they do. ive seen michelins that are 10 years old. and still hardley any dry rotting. very good a holding air pressure too. they even look good i have them mounting black side out where it shows the michelin man& logo. i have the 265 70r 18 mounted on a nissan titan and these ride smoother than the factory ones i replaced. overall the best built tire out there. i recommend anyone who is going to spend their money on tires: do it right the first time and get michelin. you get what you pay for. ive compared these to other tires and hands down michelin got everybody beat. here in the south we say ROLL"EM TILL THEY POP!!!
