Key Features Of The Toyo Proxes Sport A/S

Unless you want your sportscar to be about as frequently used as the motorboat and treadmill, you’ll need to grapple with the “tire problem.” With most performance and sportscars being equipped with performance summer tires, they’re strictly limited from the factory for summer seasonal use.

The Toyo Proxes Sport A/S resolves this issue. By widely expanding the temperature window in which the tires can be used, including at or below the freezing point, the Proxes Sport A/S could be the key to unlocking your car’s year-round potential.

Here are the key features that make the Proxes Sport A/S a great solution for sports and performance car owners in four season territories:

New Compound Technology

Tire tread design grabs your attention, but the performance potential of any tire is largely determined by its compound. For example, the tread compound composition determines whether tires remain pliable and usable in cold temperatures, or, like summer tires, solidify and make a turn toward hockey puck status once temperatures drop.

The Proxes Sport A/S compound is engineered with variable temperatures in mind, so even in winter temperatures, it provides consistent, predictable traction. This latest Toyo Tires compound is developed using proprietary nano balance technology that improves wet traction without sacrificing tread life.

Tread design encourages even contact pressure

An evenly distributed, maximized tire footprint is key to the strong, consistent, and reassuring handling traits associated with performance tires.

The Proxes Sport A/S features a “Dynamic Taper” and improved rib design to encourage more even contact pressure, which enhances braking performance and cornering stability. The Dynamic Taper design, in particular, improves tread block stiffness and works against block edge flex/deformation during cornering. This translates to a solid feel and consistent feedback from behind the wheel.

Toyo Tires’ commitment to strong, even contact pressure is reflected with its altered tread design for tires 285 mm wide and up. These wider-sized tires incorporate an additional central rib for optimum stability, feedback, and performance.

Asymmetric and non-directional

Designed to replace OE tires on high-end sports sedans and coupes, Proxes Sport A/S are asymmetric and non-directional. They’re designed not to just meet OEM standards but go beyond them as well. Tread life and ride comfort have been improved and give long lasting, quiet touring style performance during the warmer months. Tread block notches make the tire surface stiffer so they don’t lose traction under heavy braking. Toyo Tires created an ideal first replacement for UHP OE tires, by combining high performance elements with a quiet, smooth ride, longer lasting tread.

Performance in rain and snow

The Proxes Sport A/S offers particularly strong traction in rainy, wet conditions, and reasonably good traction in light snow conditions. These performance-oriented all-seasons inspire confidence more than anything else. In the dry, they offer progressive breakaway with enough road manners to be a great touring tire. In the wet, they evacuate water very efficiently to keep braking distances low.

Up to 50,000-mile treadwear warranty and 440/460 treadwear rating

The Proxes Sport A/S comes with a 50,000-mile treadwear warranty for V- and W-rated sizes and 40,000-mile treadwear warranty for Y- and (Y)-rated sizes. If you have a staggered fitment (i.e. different sizes front and back), the rear tires receive 50% of the stated mileage warranty.

Popular fitments

If you’re searching for an ultra-high-performance all-season tire to help you break free from seasonal vehicle use restrictions, definitely give Toyo Tires’ new Proxes Sport A/S a look.
