Continental Tire got its start in 1871 in Hanover, Germany, manufacturing and selling soft rubber products like hot water bottles, as well as bicycle and carriage tires. In 1904, the company patented the world's first car tire with a tread pattern.
This innovative spirit lives on – in the late 1980s Continental created the first eco-friendly passenger tire, the ContiEcoContact, and in 2003, the ContiSportContact 2 Vmax, the first road tire approved for speeds of up to 224 MPH. Today’s Continental is dedicated to continuing innovation, particularly in the areas of tire safety and sustainability.
What people are saying
The Continental ExtremeContact DWS has proved to be an outstanding tire. It does a little of everything very well: sure footed dry handling; excellent steering response; does very well on wet roads at highway speeds, and the bonus is that they still provide a quiet, comfortable ride.

I'm impressed with my 2 new Continental tires to this point. I did my research online and people gave this tire great reviews. It was also listed 3rd in the Consumer Reports all-season tire section. The ride is great and they handle well.
