Rated 5 out of 5by Premium Luxurious Tires I used to work at Goodyear's Wingfoot Commercial Truck Tires retreading all brands and styles of tires. I learned a lot regarding the quality of tires.I have used the General Altimax HP tires for multiple sporty coupes over the past years. These tires are excellent during rainy, snowy and dry roads. I love how these tires grip the road when driving back county roads during the dry season. These back county roads are known for their 15 mph to 30 mph corners. Driving a 2001 Saturn SC2, I'm able to make the corners between 30 mph to 50 mph. That proves these tires aggressively grip the road. These tires worked great during an extreme snow storm years ago in Wisconsin. I was able to drive through a snow pile (covering road) while my cousin got stuck. I was driving a 1992 Mercury Tracer LTZ and my cousin was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram V8 2X4!! That right there proves these tires are aggressive. If your looking for an excellent tire for all-seasons, this tire will give you optimum performance in all road conditions. Obviously it doesn't matter what brand or style of tire you have during the winter when you hit a patch of ice or extremely slick snow. These tires will regain their grip when on better patches of the road. November 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5by Great tire ! I have had the General Altimax HP on my other car (Mitsubishi Diamante) for over 4 years and 35k miles. It wears and rides great, which is why I decided to try it on my Elantra. The Diamante will easily get 50K+ on the tires, and I am hopeful I will get close to that on the Elantra. Previous best on the Elantra was 42k miles on the OEM Michelin MXV4's.The appearance of the Altimax HP is superb - it just looks like it means business. For the money, I don't think you can find a better tire value. Dry traction is better than wet, but both are OK. Road noise is minimal, handling is fine, and did I say it just looks good? Rated 5 out of 5by Great winter tires! We live in a small rural community with few places to choose from when shopping for tires, and when we went looking for new tires for our 2002 Chevy Cavalier, we had trouble finding any that were affordable. We didn't want to put expensive tires on a car with 160K miles on it. We finally decided to try buying tires online. TireBuyer.com had an amazing selection and excellent prices, not to mention we got free shipping to our home. The tires arrived in 4 days and as soon as I put them on the car we were impressed with the performance on our winter roads. The tires grip well in the snow, making it easy to go through drifts (even hard ones made by the snow plows) and the traction assist hardly comes on anymore! We were a little worried about the handling of our sport suspension when we went with a touring tire instead of performance tires, but so far no problems. We haven't driven in the rain yet, but have had some days where the snow is melting and the roads are wet and the traction is excellent. Overall I would definitely buy these tires again, and recommend TireBuyer.com to anyone. January 7, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5by Perfect Car Tires These tires are perfect for any type of car's all-season tires. I have bought these tires multiple times throughout the years. These tires have been on the following vehicles of mine: 1994 Buick LeSabre, 1998 Buick Regal, 1992 Mercury Tracer, 1998 Pontiac Grand Am & currently 2001 Saturn SC2. I haven't every had any issues with these tires.I'm an aggressive driver that loves driving in the worst Wisconsin conditions (floods, blizzards, etc.)Driving during wet conditions: These tires have shown me they can maintain Excellent grip during floods and basic rainy conditions. They stop fast and don't horribly spin when taking off.Driving during snow/ice conditions: These tires have shown me they can maintain Great grip during blizzards and Good grip during icy roads. These tires on my old 1992 Mercury Tracer were able to get me through many partially-plowed snow piles while my cousin in his 1998 Dodge Ram V8 2X4 continued to get stuck!!Driving during dry conditions: These tires have shown me they can perform equally with the highest grades of tires. I love driving back country roads with many sharp corners. These tires are able to maintain Excellent grip at higher speeds (80 mph to 100 mph) without drastically losing its performance. These tires are able to maintain a relatively silent high speed road noise. These are by far my favorite sports sedan/coupe tires of all.Only downfall of these tires are the obvious to those experienced & knowledgeable. These tires are directional tires; which means they can only rotate one direction. This can be a slight hassle when rotating tires on regular basis. This does not deter me from paying the extra $10-$15/tire rotation since these tires are well worth the slight hassle. November 12, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5by AWESOME Grip Great performance and Outstanding handling. Just love the feel and everything about these tires! January 13, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5by Expedient Delivery I have enjoyed the performance and handling of this tire for the type of commuting travel that my vehicle handles. It handles well in the rain but I don't test or chance testing its wet handling since I am a cautious driver. January 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by Great tire-buying experience! Great tires for the money. Purchased for a car with higher mileage and hard to beat for the price. January 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by Great tire for the price We have had this tire on my wife's Civic for a few years now. They have worn great and still have great wet and dry traction even after 45,000 miles. December 6, 2013
