Rated 5 out of 5by Impressed Recently bought these tires, and as expected they do quite well off road. Steep muddy uphills in 2 wheel drive I'll stall in 1st gear before they lose traction. What surprised me was taking them on snow and ice for the first time backcountry skiing this past weekend, on the way down the snow covered dirt road, there was a steep hill that had turned to skating rink. A suburban, truck, and subaru had slid into the ditch on the side near the top of the hill. We were able to use my old chains on the subaru, and inch it down the hill, at spots it was sliding on the ice even with ABS and chains. I took my jeep down, without chains or ABS, worried about mud tires on ice. Until I got past the stuck suburban, I went too slow for 1st gear in 4 low, so just rode the brakes at a fraction of a mile of an hour, and never slid more than a couple inches. Past the suburban, 1st gear in 4 low was mellow all the way down, and I could even stop at places where the subaru with chains was sliding slightly uncontrolled on the ice. I never knew a mud tire could do that well on ice. October 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5by Awesome tire! Recently purchased these tires in 33x12.50 and I am very impressed! Very responsive on the road have have that great aggressive look to them. My first "Test" was down a path that is pure red clay and mud, the tires cleaned themselves amazingly, the Sidebiters are a great addition. Normally on this particular red clay road, normal Mud Terrains just hold the sticky clay and you lose traction, not with the Baja MTZs! They drove right though any mud hole with ease, while my buddy spun in his Super Swamper TSL's. They are very quiet compared to other Mud Terrain tires, they do have a slight roar, but it isn't very loud. I will definitely be purchasing this tire again! I ordered this tire on a Monday and they were on my doorstep Wednesday afternoon, great service from TireBuyer. August 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by BIG TIRES, but they ride smooth I bought five 37x12.5x18 MT Baja MTZ tires. They replaced 35x12.5x18 BFG KM2s. I am a big fan of the BFG KM2s but the Mickey Thompson tires are seem better. They are quieter and smoother on the highway and city streets. They seem to equally as well offroad in the rocks. I have quickly become a huge fan of these Baja MTZs. November 6, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5by Great tires, good price Purchased these tires less than 10,000 miles ago.Had B.F. Goodrich 315/75 R/16 All Terrains which were great tires as far as ride comfort, quietness and high mileage. I wanted a more aggressive tire for snow as we average over 100 inches annually. After reviewing several tires on the net I decided on the Mickey Thompson- Baja MTZ Radial. Comparing them to the B.F. Goodrich All Terrain they are a little noisier on the highway up to 70 MPH but are quieter than the 32 " B.F. Goodrich Mud Terrains on my Jeep Wrangler. We had quite a bit of rain recently and I went to my local sand pit to do a little shooting. The 3 mile dirt road leading in to the pit was extremely muddy and washed out. The Mickey Thompson MTZ Radials did a great job and i never came close to becoming stuck. No snow to speak of as yet but I expect the same great performance from these tires. Overall I am very pleased with these tires, they are quiet for a mudder and they work. What more can you ask for. After shopping around I also recieved the best price from Tire Buyer. Rated 5 out of 5by M/T Baja MTZ - Best Tire Possible! I have a set of these M/T Baja MTZ tires on my 2014 JK 2-door... 33x12.5xR17, on Rugged Ridge 17x9 alum wheels...these tires are simply amazing. I drive the highways like a mad-man...2-hr commute daily to work on these, amazingly quiet tires, but just a little bit to know you have something special underneath. 20,000 miles already and no sign of wear. Picked-up a nail and pulled it right out...no problem as the tread rubber is so thick! Driving is not a chore either, handles like stock, and acceleration is not tough being a 33 inch. A very tough look as well...everyone admires them and asks about them at gas stations, etc. Off-road is equally impressive...nothing these tires can't tackle. If you want the best of off-road, highway, looks, you will not be disappointed. Worth every penny...I will buy again on the next tire change! August 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by Pipeliner As a pipeliner, you are 50/50 on the road and off Road. I looked around and did my research and asked local dealers and they all suggested the Baja MTZ since I’m 50/50. So I took in the advice and purchased a set of them and man, let me tell you. I don’t regret it one bit!. They are diggers, but I have gone through some stuff in two wheel drive that should of been four-wheel drive. And when i have to put it in four-wheel drive, it just pulls right out or goes right through it like its dry dirt. And one thing that’s important to me is how it handles on the pavement. There are speed limit zones that are 75mph and i drive 75mph with no issues on handling at those speeds. I mean, you just can beat the quality and performance of these tires. Will buy again. Rated 5 out of 5by Awesome Tire (The best tire I ever bought) I love these tires so well I have bought 3 sets within the last 6 months I have a lifted 89 Jeep YJ I bought a set of 35's and a 1994 GMC Yukon I bought a set of 33's and then I got a set for my 2003 Chevy 2500 hd and they make my vehicles ride like new ones. You wont go wrong on these tires! September 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5by Go Ahead and Buy 'em! I bought these tires for my Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Since it's my daily driver and I frequently go to the beach or the woods I wanted a tire that could perform well on and off road. The Baja MTZ are bigger than my old tires, they ride more smoothly for my drive to school and work everyday, perform well in the mud(I didn't get stuck in mud holes right after my friend in his Jeep with BFG km1's did), they ride fine over the sand at the beach, and they look great(obviously the most important thing lol). Overall I recommend these tires if you need an aggressive tire that performs nicely as your daily driver. December 21, 2011
