Rated 5 out of 5by Impressed Recently bought these tires, and as expected they do quite well off road. Steep muddy uphills in 2 wheel drive I'll stall in 1st gear before they lose traction. What surprised me was taking them on snow and ice for the first time backcountry skiing this past weekend, on the way down the snow covered dirt road, there was a steep hill that had turned to skating rink. A suburban, truck, and subaru had slid into the ditch on the side near the top of the hill. We were able to use my old chains on the subaru, and inch it down the hill, at spots it was sliding on the ice even with ABS and chains. I took my jeep down, without chains or ABS, worried about mud tires on ice. Until I got past the stuck suburban, I went too slow for 1st gear in 4 low, so just rode the brakes at a fraction of a mile of an hour, and never slid more than a couple inches. Past the suburban, 1st gear in 4 low was mellow all the way down, and I could even stop at places where the subaru with chains was sliding slightly uncontrolled on the ice. I never knew a mud tire could do that well on ice. October 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5by Really changed the look and capability of my Jeep Has a huge improvement to the looks of my Jeep, very aggressive looking tire. The lugs are very deep and have no problem cleaning themselves out in thick mud. On the road they have a hum but it's not so bad and can be drowned out with the window down and radio playing. I'm confident on dry roads and rain but can't speak for snow/ice but the lugs are siped. They are a heavy tire so you'll loose some MPG, my average went from 18.5 to about 16.5. They are also heavy-duty so they may not soak up bumps as well if you're in something light but they can handle extra abuse. June 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by Great tire Tires ride and handle great. Look great. Get compliments all the time. Last a long time and wear well with normal balancing. August 11, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5by Great tires, good price Purchased these tires less than 10,000 miles ago.Had B.F. Goodrich 315/75 R/16 All Terrains which were great tires as far as ride comfort, quietness and high mileage. I wanted a more aggressive tire for snow as we average over 100 inches annually. After reviewing several tires on the net I decided on the Mickey Thompson- Baja MTZ Radial. Comparing them to the B.F. Goodrich All Terrain they are a little noisier on the highway up to 70 MPH but are quieter than the 32 " B.F. Goodrich Mud Terrains on my Jeep Wrangler. We had quite a bit of rain recently and I went to my local sand pit to do a little shooting. The 3 mile dirt road leading in to the pit was extremely muddy and washed out. The Mickey Thompson MTZ Radials did a great job and i never came close to becoming stuck. No snow to speak of as yet but I expect the same great performance from these tires. Overall I am very pleased with these tires, they are quiet for a mudder and they work. What more can you ask for. After shopping around I also recieved the best price from Tire Buyer. Rated 5 out of 5by Pipeliner As a pipeliner, you are 50/50 on the road and off Road. I looked around and did my research and asked local dealers and they all suggested the Baja MTZ since I’m 50/50. So I took in the advice and purchased a set of them and man, let me tell you. I don’t regret it one bit!. They are diggers, but I have gone through some stuff in two wheel drive that should of been four-wheel drive. And when i have to put it in four-wheel drive, it just pulls right out or goes right through it like its dry dirt. And one thing that’s important to me is how it handles on the pavement. There are speed limit zones that are 75mph and i drive 75mph with no issues on handling at those speeds. I mean, you just can beat the quality and performance of these tires. Will buy again. Rated 5 out of 5by Best Tire Ever These tires are amazing! Put them on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler with a 4" lift and Mickey Thompson Classic III Blacks and they not only look great, but perform great. I've had them in the mud a few times and they did the job perfectly. Yeah there's some noise but its not bad and really unnoticeable especially with a Jeep. It was definitely a great buy and well worth the buck! March 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5by Great experience The reason for the low rating on the ice and snow is because I just got them and have not had him in the ice and snow. But I have tried them in the mud and dirt and they are some really good biting tires very impressed with them. I'm very impressed with these tires for a aggressive tire quiet going down the road I will buy some for my 2001 Ford F250. Tire buyer.com shipped very fast and got here very quickly thanks.
